Man needs myth because to a lot of people life can be some what bleak. Myths or stories can inspire people to have certain morals and values that over all lead to a more well rounded society. Also Myths are usually interesting just as Star Wars is interesting, the point is that myths are majorly a source of entertainment.

Myths are not true, they were a form of entertainment from a long time ago. Just because something is old doesn't mean that it is true. I'm sure that back in the day a myth was as true as an episode of the Simpsons.

I think that a man does not need myths because as a human its good to know the world on their own to be realistic about things.

I think that myths are fiction because its just what authors are assuming is real but don't really know because their is no evidence behind those myths other than what is written but who's sees those authors write its unknown.

Man doesn't need myths, man likes to have myths to feel there is something higher in life. Something to put as their goal in life to achieve. Man needs something to idol and be in awe at. Myths do not exist. Men created these stories to have some purity to grasp and strive for.

Does man need myth..

Well. I doubt that man absolutely "NEEDS" them... But stories probably wouldn't be as relevant without them. Without the content of a story having something to work off of, or identify with, it sort of leaves the whole story to end up being insignificant. Other than solely for the purpose of entertainment. And even then some of the entertainment value in a story comes from having a lesson that you can take in from it. I'm sure that if you were to ask certain people this question. The response would be, at least somewhat, dependent on whether they have ever learned something from a myth before or not. If nothing has been taken in from a story before then there is no personal connection to it. If someone doesn't Identify with the story; then nothing really reaches the viewer/reader/listener on a very deep level.

Are myths true?

Well obviously the myths THEMSELVES. Are not true. But there is some truth behind them. Take little red riding hood for example. The story revolves around this little girl in a strange setting and some strange being (I say being because it was a wolf) approaching them with a hint of nefarious intention.. Could someone be alone in a dangerous/strange place? Absolutely. And can someone be threatened by a strange person in that place? Yes they can. Although this is a basic message. It conveys truth. Not ALL strangers are bad people. But the idea is that you remain cautious when presented with unfamiliar territory. And there is very much truth in that.

"Does Man Need Myth?"
I don't think that man needs myth to understand how life is, and why life is how it is. In some circumstances it should be common sense. I mean, If someone wanted to learn about something, the sun for example, would they really bring up "Helios, the Sun God" as a resource? These 'Myths" are all interesting stories. But they're just stories.

"Are Myths true?"
I do not think that myths are true. They are old folktales, old stories. If these myths were real, then I dont think they would need that title, "Myth" if they were real then you would find them in the category of History in the library and not in the category of Fiction and folktale.

1) As myths are told, people being to gain morals and realize things in life. I believe that man needs myths because there stories that can help you in life. At the same time man doesnt need myths because they can gather experience of life by going through life's obsticles.

2)Not all myths are true. Some are just made up stories from people and there imagination. They are just stories that relate to the explanation of things, the practices of religions, or the imagination of others.

1) I agree with Joseph Campbell on man needing myths. Myths are just spoken stories from the past that gives man the intention of becoming a so called Hero. It gives them the slightest foresight to see themselves as an Actual hero. Although the myths seem to be unreal..
2) I'd have to say that myths are Not true. First of all, myths were from the time being of a Hundred years ago.. Actually further than that, just seem totally unrealistic. In the interview, Joseph Campbell finds the myths to be metaphorically true, only knowing that he could be wrong in many ways since myths are ancient history. Not true. Sadly...

1. Man does need Myths. Myths give us a deeper understanding of life and situations that happen in it. A myth is a magnified dream. They not only tell stories, but most importantly they give us a connection with another spiritual world.

2. Myths are not true. They give us our life models for existence. A magnified dream cannot be real. Therefore, a myth cannot be true.

Man does need myths because they make our imaginations grow and they also teach us our limitations and what we can and cant do.

Myths are not real they are just stories to teach us lessons about every day life.

"Does Man need Myths?" It really does depend on who you are asking, Im sure many people have different types of opinions on weather it is needed or not. In my opinion Man does need Myths because you could use myths to escape from reality weather its in a movie or book or play etc. "Are myths true?" No, I do not think myths are true but you could relate it to certain things such as love, or if they could be true depending on what type of things you believe in.

Does man need myths? I believe that man does need myths. Myths are a way for people to escape real life and harsh times in their life and enter fantasy world of things that make them happy. Myths also helped man conquer problems that people have.

Myths are only as true as a person believes them to be. Myths to some people help them figure out what is behind everything that happens in life. And myths to other people are just fake stories that are told and no one believes the stories being told.

Does man need Myths?
Man needs myths in order to function properly in society. If man had evolved with out Myths we wouldn't have movies or stories. Basically our entire existence would be the most boring and probably useless existence on the planet. With Myths we are creative, imaginative and better at problem solving because we compare real problems to the problems in stories.

Are Myths True?
A myth does not necessarily have to be true. Most myths are solely for teaching purposes, others are to keep a family line or something of importance alive. Myths were created to empower people. Like in Norse Mythology, people believed that if they died with pride in battle they would be taken to Valhalla. A lot of the worlds history has happened because someone believed in a Myth.

a) Does man need Myths?
That vary s with what the situation is. Myths are peoples imagination of how an ideal person should be like and act like. Peoples imagination makes up stories of the greatest people that achieve everything they can in life, from being brave to nice and caring and able to take the risk of a really bumpy ride throughout life. Logic Knowledge and reason are definitely more important than stories.

b) Are Myths True?
No they aren't true. They are stories that people make up and tell. People believe them to make themselves have hope and dreams. They are not real because most of the myths seem unreal.

1)Does Man need Myths? Personally no because myths are really nothing. you don't need a myth to be a man or a somebody. All you need is your pride and independence.

2)Are Myths True? They can be true and they can also be fake. You never really know.

Man does need myths. Myths give a person something to compare to although its unrealistic. It can also be a way for an ordinary person to escape from reality. Most myths are usually passed down to teach either courage, honor, endurance, morals and even values.

No myths are not real. I believe myths are just fictional stories with a half-truth just to get a point across. Myths can teach values or explain different situations

Man needs myths because it's a personal get away from reality and in numerous ways, to keep us content. Sometimes myths can help someone escape from a point in their life, where they're struggling with someone or something. In other words, myths can be a guidance. Myths can be useful, but only when necessary.

Myths aren't true. They're basically just stories that get passed on over the years and get changed here and there. It gets twisted and can turn out to be just a lie.

1) Does man need myths? I think they do. Myths tell a story so that you can learn from your mistakes or relate to a myth.
2) Are myths true? I don't think so. I believe myths are dramatic stories about things that might have happened or they are just random inspirations that writers got and created them and shared them. Myths aren't real but the inspiration behind them are.

I believe that man does in fact need myths. Myths are what keep the mind growing, thinking, and learning and in order to become more mature, man needs to think about everything that may come his/her way. Myths have given people idea that make them very wealthy, like movie stars, directors, and writers. A lot of film writers follow certain myths and without those myths, there would not be such creative films.

1.) Does man need myths? man doesn't need myths but it's a good thing to have myths because it can inspire people to have certain morals and values and it can inspire them to be good people.

2.) Are myths true?
No, myths are not true, they are part of the author's imagination, although maybe they were inspired by something real but the myths are not real.

I don't think man necessarily needs myths. Someone can choose to love by them but then they'd be living in an imaginary world. They wouldn't be living realistically. Myths are passed down with words not by action of things. If things are passed down by mouth, most of the time it is some how worded from how it was in the beginning.

There are some myths that seem very realistic and that's what man looks for. But I personally believe that myths are false just because it starts one way and it ends in a totally different sentence.
